Hashi.org Announces 2019 American Scholarship Winner!

8/29/19 – Hashi.org is proud to announce the winner of the 13th annual Travel Scholarship to an American citizen! This year, choosing one winner amongst the many outstanding applicants was extremely difficult. We received dozens of applications with essays describing a variety of ambitious and laudable backgrounds and aspirations, including international business majors (medical law/bioethics, et al), students studying multiculturalism/colonization/cultural differences and similarities in LGBTQ communities, et al, internationally traveling musicians, and many more.
And so, we are deeply gratified with the ambition and accomplishments of our applicants this year with the common theme of wanting to reach beyond our borders and be a part of these bridge-building efforts in our world today. But none more so than this year’s scholarship winner, Stephanie Wong Su!

Stephanie is currently an undergraduate biology research student with a minor in business management, with the goal of becoming an environmental scientist and advocate. She wants to start an international non-profit organization that educates and empowers people around the world to protect the environment. Towards that end, she will be spending the next semester in Chungnam National University in South Korea, studying and doing research on the severity of pollution and environmental problems South Korea is experiencing and what solutions they are currently implementing.
Being a first-generation college student from a large family, we applaud her ambition not only to become a graduate, but to gain international experience and immersion in other cultures, and to do so with such an important and admirable field of study. We find her ambition to work with international relations, one person to another, and one country to another, to be exemplary of the mission and ideals of hashi.org. We are proud to award this $1,000 travel scholarship to Stephanie Wong Su! Congratulations and best wishes to all our applicants in their aspirations!

Hashi.org Announces 2019 Japanese Scholarship Winner!

7/05/19 – Hashi.org is proud to announce the winner of the 13th annual Travel Scholarship to a Japanese citizen! This year, we have the honor of awarding this scholarship to a woman that completed her degree as an M.D. but has been drawn to the healing power of The Yoga of Voice and Sound, and has been studying with the Vox Mundi Project, led by Grammy-nominated composer, Silvia Nakkach. This summer, she will be coming to California to further her Teacher Training to enable her to share this healing gift with others back home in Japan. In the spirit of the bridge-building efforts of hashi.org, congratulations to Yuiko Kishi, winner of our $1,000 Scholarship for a Japanese citizen!
